The Mega Ponzi Scheme

Have you done your research on Social Security?  So you understand what actually happened to the fabric of America when that was forced on Americans?

Personally...because most Americans prefer, "Dancing With The Stars," to reading history I have no doubt that Obamacare will have the same devastating effects that Social Security did.  What are your thoughts?

What is Social Security to you?
My retirement fund.
Grandma's retirement fund...but it won't last long enough for me.
A ponzi scheme that I cannot opt out of.

Discussion Questions
1. Swain argues that "Scripture indicates that G-d relates to humanity today as He has done in the past," noting that, "In Hebrews 13:8 the apostle Paul says that Jesus Christ is 'the same yesterday and today and forever."  Do you agree? Does G-d judge nations today the same way as He has in the past?

My Response:  Without question.  For anyone who has spent any amount of time studying the Scriptures it is very evident that G-d has a plan.  He uses other nations to bring judgement upon those that have turned their backs on Him.  One quote that I think is quite relevant for this answer is, "many times people mistake G-d's patience for His permission."  In other words...just because He does not judge on our time table does not mean judgement is not coming.

2. Natural law, the "law written on the heart" that distinguishes right from wrong, is a belief system that Christians and deists held in common.  Is this still true today for Christians and other nonbelievers of various faiths?  How can natural law provide a common moral ground today upon which we can set policy and restore our original vows?

My Response:  Our Rabbi put it very plainly that most everyone agrees with the Ten Commandments as being the highest form of moral law...this crosses culture, religion, and race barriers.  However, it is the other 603 commandments that most people have the issues with.  No country wants any laws of G-d in practice as they have come from Him, this is where moral relativity comes in, where the elite get to make the rules as to what is right and wrong and is why moral ethics no longer apply in the political arena.  Natural law may be applied within small groups of people, but will no longer be used as government law and most left leaning people will choose moral relativism over natural or G-d's law.

3.  The First Amendment (particularly the Establishment and Free Exercise clauses) was originally intended to prevent a national church, like that of England, and prevent the potentially harmful effects of religion.  Today, however, the First Amendment has been reinterpreted to support banning prayer in schools and public displays of the Ten Commandments.  Can this modern interpretation be reversed to reflect the framers' original intentions?  Is this feasible, given the current political climate?

My Response:  I do not see this as being feasible.  The First Amendment has no place in a Communist or Socialist society which is where the elite are taking America.  For anyone who questions this, I recommend two books. "Original Intent, The Courts, the Constitution, and Religion," and, "Separation of Church & State, What Our Founders Meant," by David Barton.

4.  Swain lists Manifest Destiny, the Louisiana Purchase, the territories gained through the Spanish-American War, and the mass displacement of Native Americans as potential abuses of America's covenant relationship with G-d.  One may also consider the purchases of Alaska and Hawaii, and the subsequent imposition of American governance on the natives in those territories.  Would you consider these to be abuses of the covenant?  In your opinion, were at least some of these matters ordained by G-d?

My Response:  Quite honestly, I believe that nothing happens without the knowledge of our Creator.  He gave us freewill to be caring towards others or blast them into oblivion.  I doubt that many of the American decisions made after President Lincoln died had anything to do with honoring America's covenant with G-d.  And in the last one hundred years or so, I think the elite have used prayer and swearing on a Bible just to pacify the little people, very few if any live as though they understand who G-d is.  So, no.  To put it bluntly, no, we have not honored our covenant and I do believe we have abused much.

5.  Swain contends that the capture and transport of Africans as slaves, something that is taught as a momentous mistake in American history, "carries all the hallmarks of divine providence."  Discuss why she believes this to be the case, including the parallels she sees "between the experiences of black descendants of slaves and the 400-year bondage and redemption of the Israelites in Egypt."  Are there any other such moments in history that, looking back, may be seen as providential?

My Response:  Carol Swain uses the story of Joseph (read Genesis Chapters 37-50).  She believes that if the black upper class would be like Joseph and help to save their people, that the time of slavery would not have been for naught.  I agree with her on this point, wholeheartedly.  This remains to be seen however as many are into both class and race warfare which is not helping anything or anyone.

6.  Swain notes Deuteronomy 28:15-22, explaining that is states: "A nation that rebels against G-d will absolutely not thrive."  She further asks the provocative question, "Has our behavior brought G-d's judgement upon America in the form of the curses spelled out in Deuteronomy 28:15-53?"  Do you believe that America's immoral behavior in recent decades has brought these disasters and worsening economic conditions as consequences of breaking our original vows?  American has suffered horrible disasters stretching back to our Independence, including numerous natural disasters, the burning of Washington, the Civil War, the Great Depression, the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, and the Bay of Pigs fiasco.  Can these also be considered to be ramifications of our rebellion against G-d, even during those times?  If not, how can we explain them?

My Response:  Every Christian loves Deuteronomy 28:2...at least the part about the blessings.  They do overlook the, "if you follow my commandments that I have given you this day," part.  Contrary to popular belief, there are 613 commandments that G-d has given to mankind.  Some say just for the Jewish people, but lets get real...we all came from Noah who was a descendant of Adam.  We all have the ability to follow His commands (which are really not that hard, many of them are just common sense).  So because as a nation we violate His law, then yes, I see no reason to think that we are not being punished as a result.  I see this as truth due to my belief in G-d which shapes my worldview.  However, I don't think the average Joe is going to "get it" or understand it, so I don't talk about it with the average Joe.

7.  How can we rebut those who dismiss religious reasoning?  Through what methods can we create spaces, in our local communities, where faith-based reasoning is considered an acceptable counter to secular arguments?

My Response:  I find this very difficult.  There are some things I will not talk about even with other people close to me as they have adopted paths of thinking that I cannot follow such as disarming G-d of His sovereignty and believing in the modern idea of evolution.  So really, I don't believe there is a "safe place" to discuss any form of faith based reasoning.  No matter where you go, you will find people who will think they are smarter than you and that their way of thinking is the only one that is right.  I wish I had a more optimistic answer for this question.

Be The People, Chapter One

Welcome to our first discussion on Chapter One!  I am very excited to see what you have to say!  I have gone to the authors website, www.CarolMSwain.com and taken the disussion questions from her study guide section.  I hope you will find these as interesting as I did!  Please post your discussion answers in the comment below (refresh the page if the comments do not appear), or if you have written a blog post, please link it into the comment section below so that others can read it too!

Once again, if you are new you can obtain a copy of this book by borrowing from your local library or friend, or by purchasing through our affiliate, Amazon.com.  I am so glad to have you here!

My Thoughts on Chapter One:  I love this chapter!  The energy that is created while reading just makes you want to jump up and do something!  I am impressed with Carol Swain's footnotes, book references, and quotes all of which tie into the point she is making.  I love how she does make her views known, but then leaves it open for you to make your own choices regarding how to handle what she has written.  I am so thankful for the information that is packed into this chapter and the fact that it makes you THINK!

Discussion Questions
1. Why have Americans been largely complicit in the reshaping of their nation by a small group of elites?  What events have spurred the recent grassroots uprisings by everyday Americans?  Do you believe the intensity behind these movements will last?

My Response:  Honestly, I think the reason that most Americans are ok with losing their political freedom is due to their addiction to distractions.  Hollywood, the mall, sports and anything else you can name clearly is far more important to the average American than their future or their children's futures.  Not too mention what kids are learning these days and what adults consider stimulating education.  Don't even get me started on the elementary educational system.

I believe that a few people had something happen in their lives where the last several decades of elections made them realize that life as they were raised to believe existed, was about to end.  Let's face it and be realistic, freedom in America has nearly disintigrated since the early 1960's.  It had been downhill for awhile, but the big shove came in the 60's.  People like me, finally started waking up to the stupidity of the "deer in the headlights generations" and now have to fight to hang on to what little freedom we now have left.

The intesity of these movements may actually wane for a short time, but the sheer number of people who are now educating their children on the Founding Father's words and orginal documents is staggering.  Eventually, this movement of people ready to reclaim freedom will blaze even brighter than it is now thanks to the sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of families raising up a new George Washington, John Adams, or Hyam Solomon!

2. Swain asserts the power of "cultural enforcers" to define what is seen as acceptable and what constitutes legitimate arguments in policy debates today.  For instance, the much-criticized fireing of Jaun Williams by NPR in October 2010 stands as an example of the enforcer's desire to limit debate.  How have cultural enforcers influenced or stifled your freedom of speech and debate in your local communities?

My Response:  Most Americans have the problem of not being able to tell the truth due to someone becoming "offended."  I have seen this in the public school system, the business place, and even in the streets.  No matter where you go, people are more than willing to get offended at something that is said.  I like to think of those people as liberals (people who are looking for a lawsuit to file or another way to bring another person down).  The world was not always politically correct and it will not always be like this either, history always changes the current culture for better or worse.

3. Swain states that the efforts made by "cultural enforcers" to promote moral relitivism and tolerance are "tragically well-intentioned, motivated by a desire to create a better world---a utopian society that replaces old values and norms with a better way of life."  Eden, the original utopia, was doomed by the failures of man.  Since man is not perfect, is such a utopia ever possible?  What does the Bible say regarding a utopia on earth?

My Response:  Literally, for a utopia to happen here on earth, it will take an act of G-d.  No human can devise something utopian where everyone will be happy unless certain groups of people are eliminated that will not fit with that particular concept of "utopia."  Obviously Adam and Eve were not able to fit into the confines of the Garden of Eden and they can be considered perfect up until the fall...so no, there will be no Utopia without a massive intervention by G-d Himself.

4. Do you believe that America is a Christian nation?  Why or why not?  If not, do you believe America was, at one point in our history, a Christian nation?  What does it mean to consider America as a Christian nation?  How should our laws, our morality, and our leaders represent such a distinction, if we, in fact, seek to be represented as a Christian nation?

My Response:  Yes, America was founded to be a Christian nation.  Many stores close on Sundays (the Christian version of Shabbat), Christmas is still a huge deal (celebrated as the birth of Christ when in fact it was Nimrod's birthday), and Easter is still a huge deal in the United States of America (celebrated as the Resurrection of Christ when in fact it was a date picked by Constantine because he liked Ishtar the pagan goddess amongst other things).

When I think of America as a Christian nation, I think of paganism.  Most doctrines are not true to the Word of G-d and are made up as people go along.  I do believe however that our Founding Fathers had a very different outlook on the Bible.  They at least took the Ten Commandments very seriously and much of the Founding Documents have Torah underlyings.  Clearly, the Founders viewed things much differently than modern Christians today.

I believe that if this nation is to be represented as a "Christian" nation than our representatives and Ambassadors must take the 613 Torah Commandments seriously (if you are Anti-Torah, read Romans 3:31).  There can be no room for error to make up for the mistakes of the past.

On a side note, as much as I disagree with the Theology of Christianity...if they lose their religious freedom, so goes the rest of the country.

5. Swain sees sobering parallels between the totalitarian dystopia presented in George Orwell's "Nineteen Eighty-Four" and the direction our society is heading today.  Furthermore, since the presidency of Barack Obama, sales of Ayn Rand's dystopian novel, "Atlas Shrugged," have skyrocketed as the Tea Party has embraced the books antisocialist message, recognizing ominous parallels in Rand's novel as well.  Are these fears justified?  Do other works of fiction provide parallels for the path America is currently taking?

My Response:  These fears are totally justified.  Just with people that I know and conversations I have been party too, people are all too quick to want to take away basic rights and freedoms of others...much like a bully.  If the common people want to do this, how much more do the elite?

One book that is coming to mind that was right on the money in my opinion is, "The Overton Window," by Glenn Beck.  The, "Lord of the Rings," trilogy by, J.R.R. Tolkein also is a fascinating look at what we have today.  My husband and I joke that Communists are actually goblins.  C.S. Lewis also did a fantastic job of portraying some of this mindset in his book, "The Screwtape Letters."  You can also see bits and pieces in, "The Chronicles of Narnia."  Thank HaShem that in these books you are left with some hope...I can't say the same for our real life situation at the moment.

6. In what ways is America exceptional?  How has this exceptionalism been manifested through our history?  What is it about our heritage and our value system that makes our country unique among the nations of the world?

My Response:  America has always loved people and that sets us apart from other countries.  Our Constitution starts off, "We The People," instead of we the government.  That is fascinating when you think about it.  Up until around the Civil War, the people mattered (no, I am not talking about white supremacy here...do your research).  After that it made the switch from "We the People" to "We the Government."  Our Founders must be rolling in their graves.

Because of America's love of people, we have always been first to help those in need.  From personal donations to government foreign aid (which I do not agree with as it causes higher taxes), America reaches out and understands what it means to give.  To me that is the heritage worth fighting for.  To be able to pass on a heritage of giving and helping those in need, that would be something to be proud of.

7. How can we restore our national identity?  Through what forums, political and otherwise, can we voice our discontent with the loss of our identity?

My Response:  It starts with the individual.  In my opinion, there are too many people that live in America that hate America.  Is there a good reason why they cannot just move to another country that has a system set up that they already like?  I don't see that as too much to ask.  To reclaim America and her identity is to live it and pass it on to others.

Personally, I blog about what I see happening to America, I post on Twitter, and I post on my favorite news websites.  I take part in polls, I vote, and I teach my children about the past as the collective future of America is riding on their generations shoulders.

Stand and Prepare

These are very intense times that we live in.  Anyone who purchases groceries can understand this with the prices that have steadily climbed in the last several years.  If you read the newspaper or turn on the television, it is all there...in color.  What is happening in our world now will affect the future of our children and grandchildren.  There are questions that must be asked of ourselves and sides to be taken, everyone stands for something...even in their silence.  Everyone prepares for something...even in doing nothing at all.

What do you stand for?  What do you prepare for?

My America 7.27.11

"Common sense is the knack of seeing things as they are, and doing things as they ought to be done."
C.E.Stowe

In the days and weeks, months and years that have passed since I started taking an interest in my country and where it is going, I have been stumped.  Yes, stumped.  I do not understand the lack of common sense amongst the "elite."  You know who I am talking about, the hand picked playboys with the fascinating Yale, Harvard or Oxford educations in Washington that think they know what is best for me in every area of life from what I eat to who my doctor should be.  They seem to know exactly how I should live, parent my children and what my interests in life should be.  Yet, they cannot keep their own lives together.  See Matthew 7:5, click here.

Consistently, they pass laws that will "make my life better."  In the process they take 10 and give back 8.  With that kind of math, eventually there will be nothing to give (oh wait...does national debt ring a bell?).  For all their talk about making life better for everyone, they are making most people miserable and poor.

In the past, Americans have banded together to do the hard things.  During the Great Depression there was community.  People gathered harvests with neighbors, gardened as a community, and shared what they had to give.  You don't see that anymore...because the government wants to take what we have to give and "give it to those in need."  I would like to pick my own charities, thank you very much.

Obviously our voices are not reaching Washington.  That has been more apparent than ever with the budget deal that is going on.  First of all, you do not just "slow down" on spending when you are in a bind, you CUT spending.  What do I mean by cut?  Well, let's see here, defund is another good word.  Instead of taxing the people and businesses like the King of England our Founders and Revolutionists left behind...try curbing your appetite for power and be happy with what you have.

So, would you like to see my top ten list of what I would like to see in government spending cuts?  Here it is:

1. Un-Constitutional Departments such as the DOE and the USDA (and many, many more).
2. Government Owned Corporations need to be sold to the private sector such as Amtrack (NRPC).
3. No public servant (such as Congress or the Senate and including but not limited to local government) should make a salary higher than the lowest paid military personnel...their lives are not on the line like our soldiers.
4. Pull our troops out and bring them home.  The intent of the military was and should be to defend and protect our borders...that is only with the Navy and the Marines (do your research).
5. Welfare.  It is time for American families to take care of their own again.
6. Foreign Aid.  The people of the United States should have the right to send money to whom they wish...and not for purposes the government deems worthy, but rather to charities, non-profits and causes that the people want to see funded with their own hard earned money.
7. Universities, Colleges, and other higher education institutions.
8. Government "Option" Charities.
9. Government Elite Transportation.  They can drive their own car and take a commercial plane just like everyone else.
10. Other Wasteful Spending...

"Yet, politicians still insist that no hard choices need to be made and that hardship and pain-which have always been part of the American experience-are somehow no longer necessary (unless, of course, you are wealthy).  When asked to explain why hardship and pain should not be borne by all, they simply shout louder: "The wealthiest one percent"; "George W. Bush"; "Pay your fair share."

Now, of course I would not propose that our government make the hard choices if I did not make them myself.  Our family has cut, cut some more and then cut again.  We work hard...really hard.  I have listened to the stories of my Grandparents and the Great Depression and the rationing of WWII and have taken that all to heart.  America needs to come together to get this debt gone.  We the people did not get us in the red, but we the people are going to get us in the black again if we can all come together.  What is it going to take?  At the very least, common sense.

I want to hear from you...what are some ideas that you have for Common Sense in America?  What can we as individuals do to espouse Common Sense thus proving to the Feds that, yes, we can still govern ourselves?

"I can never fear that things will go far wrong where common sense has fair play."

My America 7.20.11

How does it come to be that some children are allowed a very bright future and others are not?  Some parents go to very great lengths to enhance their children's future to the best of their ability and other parents do not seem to care at all believing that what was good enough for them is good enough for their children.

Most children are subject to the enslavement of what we refer to as public education and few people are willing to acknowledge that it really is public indoctrination, not education.  For the parents that are doing all they can to promote a healthy future for their little ones...why is this the best they can offer their children?  When we begin to do our own research and look into what is happening in the public school system, suddenly...the bright futures just do not seem to be as bright.  In fact, it begins to blur and almost fade away, disappearing into a Socialist Regime.

So how can we salvage what is left of a runny watercolor painting?  First of all, we must acknowledge that there are real people out there that do not believe we can raise our own children.  If you do not believe me, please visit ParentalRights.org.  Second, we must convince ourselves that the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child," is not necessarily correct.  It depends entirely upon what village you live in, there are just some villiages I do not want around my kids.  Thirdly, why are we allowing people who have never met our children tell us how to educate them, do these people know our children better than ourselves (dreams, goals, aspirations, etc)?

Practically speaking, what can you do?  I don't know what you can do only you can answer that, but I will share what I am doing.  First of all, we are entering our second year of home education.  My boys are already well beyond their peers, however looking at the standards of the 1700's (the Founding Fathers era) they are a bit behind.  I have shown them (by example) my love of learning and how it can be completely fun!  They have picked up on the enthusiasm and that I believe is a key component to making home education work.

Second, there are two things here that are related.  I do not work outside of the home.  We have a traditional family, Papa provides and Mama takes care of everything else.  Was our budget on track to do this?  No.  But, we have seriously cut expenses and weeded out everything we can do without (no cable, no make-up, no shopping sprees, one car family, etc.).  We have a garden and are growing as much of our own food as possible (grow little plants, grow).  I am in charge of my own online business(es).  We use coupons and stick to a budget.  There is so much more, but this is not the point I am trying to make.

IndoctriNation Trailer from IndoctriNation on Vimeo.

The point that I am trying to make is this...what is your childs future worth to you?  What sacrifices are you willing to make to ensure they have far better than what you had, more potential, and more creativity and freedom to carve out their place in life?  I am not talking about the latest clothes or toys, I am talking about a solid foundation, a true education and a real possiblity of a creative and bright future (involving really hard, but satisfying work). The choices that you make now will affect multiple generations. What kind of parents are you educating for your future grand-children and great-grand children; what will the future generations learn from your children?  Will they forever learn to just get by with a broken educational/institutional system, or will they learn from your children how to seek out knowledge and embrace learning of all kinds?

If for any reason you are unable to home educate at the moment, you MUST fight the system.  This is imperative.  The whole time my boys were in the public school system, they (the women of the school...teachers, principles and board) were trying to get my children on drugs.  They picked the wrong tiger to tangle with.  I was referred to by a family member as, "Give 'em Hell Harry!" This due to the fight I put up.  I would not let them run me over and medicate my children just because they were normal, very active boys.  You must get out of your comfort zone and fight for the well-being of your children no matter how unpopular you become.

Now, I want to hear from you.
1. What do you think of our current educational system?
2. What problems have you encountered and what has been your solution?
3. Do you believe the system is broke and if so, what do you suggest as a solution or an alternative?

Here is a comment from a viewer on YouTube:

Johann Gottlieb Fichte (Prussian/US EDU founder) said that above all else, education should “destroy free will”. He set about designing a method to make this happen (through constant interruption of thought, segregating subjects, intellectual and emotional conditioning, etc.). He said, "When the technique has been perfected, every government that has been in charge of education for more than one generation will be able to control its subjects securely without the need of armies or policemen."
