Little Boy, Little Man

This week my eldest has been privileged with the gift of celebrating his eleventh birthday.  To celebrate life, what a beautiful gift!  Though a bit short of a hundred years from the birthday celebration of Bilbo Baggins from J.R.R. Tolkiens, Lord of the Rings, this is still quite an event for my son and for myself.  It is hard to describe the emotions as a mother looks at the calendar, talents and accomplishments with the realization that her firstborn will be moving on to the future that God has created him for....sooner than you, as a mother, are ready for it to happen.

Nothing can quite describe the fervent desire that you hope and pray that your guidance keeps your sons on the narrow path all the days of their lives.  There are not enough pages to record the prayers said for them, no way to record every moment you have spent giving them hugs, kisses, encouragement and love.  So, I ask the Lord God Almighty, Creator and King of the Universe to guide my every thought, word and action on their behalf.  I ask for the wisdom and guidance to help them become the men they were created to become to fulfill the purpose and destiny their lives were designed for, the mission that only they can accomplish.

Little Boy Little Man

What are little boys made of?

Hopes and Dreams
Mischief and Laughs
Climbing up Trees
Splashing in Baths

What are the best men made of?

Hugs and Kisses
Cuddles and Joy
Patience and Kindness
Will make a man from this boy.

"For I know what plans I have in mind for you,' says Adonai, 'plans for well-being, not for bad things; so that you can have a hope and a future.  When you call to Me and pray to Me, I will listen to you.  When you seek Me you will find Me, provided you seek Me wholeheartedly..."

(the boys at 5 and 6 years old)

Jeremiah 29:11-13
