Marvelous Monday!

Christians have a million different assaults coming at them in every direction everyday.  We are bound by Biblical Principles not to engage in worldly activity as our conduct should reflect the Kingdom of Heaven rather than the Kingdom of Darkness.  One example is with our eyes.  Yeshua put it this way:

"You have heard that it was said, You shall not commit adultery.

    But I say to you that everyone who so much as looks at a woman with evil desire for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart."

    Matthew 5:27-28

So, in a world filled with immodest images on magazine covers in the grocery story, billboards on the way home, and indecent conversation heard through the open window from the neighbors...how does a Christian protect themselves?  Before we get into that conversation, listen to Dr. Ravi Zacharias as he speaks about the boundaries of beauty.

Where Are We Now?

For anyone who has grown up in America or has lived here for any length of time, you will know that our culture is very different from that of Eastern culture.  A few things that I have observed:

• In the East, respect and honor are emphasized vs. the West where rebellion is emphasized.
• In the East, you will find tradition and repetition vs. the West where there is little stability.
• In the East, the old ones are revered vs. the West where people are looking into new ways of euthanasia.

I find this so sad.  There is so much more that could be expounded upon, but I have always believed my readers to be excellent and well read, I am sure you have several things you could add as well.  I do not say this in thinking Eastern ways are perfect, not at all, but rather there are things we can learn from them.  Like Corrie Ten Boom said, "When you eat a fish, you eat the meat and leave the bones."  This is with everything in life.

How Does G-d View Women?

Have you ever wondered if there is a place for women in G-d's plan?  I have heard so many people say that G-d hates women and I have always wondered what in the world happened to those people to believe in such a way?  There is an underlying reason and cause to everything if we are willing to search it out.  In this video, Dr. Ravi Zacharias beautifully describes how G-d views women.  This is one message that you will not want to miss!

The Effect Of Words On Water

For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.

 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

Have you ever noticed while reading the Bible that God thought of everything?  I am continually amazed at this fact.  Jehovah did not allow one thing in His Word without good reason.  Science is even catching up to this...how exciting!  Here are a few tidbits to ponder before moving on:

• The word "word(s)" is found 1179 times int he KJV
• The word "mouth(s)" is found 415 times in the KJV
• The word "spoken" is found 280 times in the KJV
• The word "thought(s)" is found 134 times in the KJV
• The word "speech" is found 58 times in the KJV

Here is a quick run through on the water percentages in the human body (just a refresher):

"Up to 60% of the human body is water, the brain is composed of 70% water, and the lungs are nearly 90% water. Lean muscle tissue contains about 75% water by weight, as is the brain; body fat contains 10% water and bone has 22% water. About 83% of our blood is water, which helps digest our food, transport waste, and control body temperature. Each day humans must replace 2.4 litres of water, some through drinking and the rest taken by the body from the foods eaten."

Our words, our thoughts, our choice of what we listen to affects water molecules.  Think for a moment.  If your brain is composed of nearly 70% water, what are your words and thoughts doing to your brain?  Dr. Masaru Emoto discovered just how much words and thoughts can affect water.  Beautiful words, thoughts, music and prayer produce beautiful crystals that resemble snowflakes.  However, ugly words, thoughts, or music distorts the water molecule into something chaotic and ugly.

This is very interesting to think about.  The book of James in the Bible talks alot about our words and our speech and taming the tongue.  Apparently there is a reason God had these principles written and it goes far beyond "feelings."  This is a wonderful study to go through as a family.  We all want our children to speak nicely and think positive thoughts, but for our more "logical" or "analytical" children, the science behind why we do what we do may have more of an impact than merely saying, "Because I told you so." 

As with everything we study, we must measure it to the Word of God.  People will try and take God out of Science but you simply cannot take the Creator out of His Creation.  There is plenty on the subject of our thoughts and words in the amazing Word of God, I would suggest starting with the book of James and then working your way out from there.

The Finger Print Of God Is In The Numbers

Welcome to another Marvelous Monday!  I am very excited to share with you today about MATH!!!  Yes, math, the study of numbers. So just hang on tight so we can celebrate the complexity of our amazing King and Creator of the Universe while we take a look at Bible Numerics!

Have you ever had that conversation with someone where they stubbornly refuse to believe that God is the author and finisher of Creation?  And then they go on to dispute the authority of the Bible claiming that it is just an "old book" that is "out of date" and "needs to be redefined or rewritten?"  I have wasted too much of my time on those conversations.  People will believe what they want to believe, if they believe the sky is orange even though it is blue, they will continue to believe it is orange until they choose to see otherwise.  That is just the way of the world.

But, for people that are consistently inspired and awed by how amazing God is, they will LOVE this today!  We are going to take a look at God...in the numbers.  Have you ever seen the fingerprint of God below the text of the Bible?  Did you know that every single one of the sixty-six books of the Bible is interwoven together in a complex mathematical structure?  Think about this, it took about 2,200 years and about 40 different human authors for the Bible to become complete.  Yet...we can see the underlying fingerprint of God in two places.  One, we can see the "Scarlet Thread," from Genesis to Revelation.  The Scarlet Thread is the plan of God, but we will touch on this one another time.  The second place where we can see this is in the Bible Numerics which we will look at today. 

Dr. Ivan Panin found in the original text (Hebrew and Greek) of the Word of God, not modern translations, but in the original text that every letter or character has a numerical value.  He found that every passage, every paragraph, every sentence has a mathematical rhyme and reason and yet they all flow together.  This is astonishing when we once again look at the facts...2,200 years to complete the Bible and 40 human authors.  

If you are as interested in seeing this as I was, I am sure you don't want to hear anymore of what I have to say.  Instead, I will list some links for you to read yourself and share with your family.  There are many wonderful articles or books to read on this topic!  This is a great discussion to have with children that may not really enjoy Math.  Also, if you have any links to share that are relevant to this topic or books or videos, please share them as this is truly a fascinating way to celebrate our wonderful King and Creator of the Universe, Elohim!

Origins of Man, Celebrating Our Creator!

Welcome!

This is the first in hopefully what will be a long line of, "Marvelous Mondays!"  Monday is where we will celebrate the marvelous works of El Elyon, Creator and King of the Universe!

"Does what you believe about origins affect your worldview? Do origin assumptions provide a foundation upon which important moral questions are answered? Many creationists have advanced the idea that what one believes about creation and evolution affects his or her worldview. Empirical studies in this area are, however, lacking. By advancing a hypothesis that does not have empirical support, creationists are seen by some in the "mainstream" scientific community as extreme and unscientific [10].

This paper reports on a study involving the development and implementation of a survey of science teachers to ascertain the relationship between their belief in creation or evolution and their moral views. The research hypothesis, that there is a relationship between one's origins belief and his or her moral view, is supported. The secondary hypothesis, that the more one believes in creation, the more positive his or her moral views, also is supported.

On the specific questions of intimacy, there also appears to be a relationship at the later stages in the expected direction. That is, the more the subject believes in creation, the less he or she is willing to morally accept sexual intercourse between two unmarried consenting people.
