Reshaping It All...Day 10

So far in this Reshaping It All Challenge, what I have learned most, or rather been reminded of, is this:

If you do not change your mindset, it does not matter the food that you eat.

This is really not profound for most people, but it is helping me to regain my footing.  In fact, my husband has decided to encourage my efforts and we are going on the Daniel Fast!  This will be his first, but the boys and I have done this several times.  Many people do the Daniel Fast for different reasons, but for me, I want to get my mind and cravings back under control where they need to be...grounded to the Word of God!

"For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags."
Proverbs 23:21

The time I would normally spend prepping, kneading, baking, cooking...will be spent in prayer and reading the Word of God and meditating on it.  Food (like money) is such a lowly thing in and of itself...it is a tool.  Why are people so easily manipulated by tools rather than the person being in charge and manipulating the tool?  This is a very interesting idea to ponder and only each unique person can answer that for themselves.

As for exercise, I am excited for the lovely weather to get out there and be walking again and biking!  What a privilege to enjoy this beautiful earth that our Lord God created and have a health benefit at the same time!  My plan is to do as many sunrise rides as possible this summer...there is just something special about being up so early in the morning to pray and commune with the One who created the beautiful scenery!  He loves to hear what makes each of us happy and I love to tell Him!

I would love for you to meet this lovely lady!  Her name is Janelle and she is from over at the blog, Comfy In The Kitchen (and comfy in my jeans).  I hope you will run over and visit her and see what she has cookin' (no pun intended)!
