Modest Women, Pure Men

This video has been flying around Facebook at lightening speed!  I ask that you take ten minutes out of your day to watch it and pray about what you hear.

"Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman without discretion."
Proverbs 11:22

Ah yes, we have all seen the woman who calls herself a Christian that parades around the church flaunting her cleavage (on purpose...there are some that are completely unaware), stomach, long legs, toned muscles, the list goes on and on.  They desire men, and women, to look at their bodies, to lust after them, they crave the attention.  Those women are part of the "Christian Feminist Movement."  If there really can be such a thing...but I will expound on that topic in another post.  Sadly, these are the same women that blame men one hundred percent on lust problems.  These are the women that have no discretion.

Modesty in women is a topic near and dear to my heart.  I have two sons.  They have not yet reached the point where they struggle with lust...Lego's, choir, and working in the woodshop are what keeps their brains very occupied right now.  They will grow up sooner than I am ready for and then they will be faced with that battle of the mind.  Though I am doing everything I can to train them well now, there will be women who will attempt to tear them down and grind them into the dust of the earth.  Thank God for prayer...

I could go on and on, but I know that women who truly want to please the Lord will study this out for themselves.  So I will just give some links for a few resources on the subject below.  If you have chosen today to be one of those women who stands up and says, "enough is enough." If you are a woman who has chosen modesty, I applaud you!  I thank God for the women who are choosing modesty to help our husbands, brothers, sons and all Christian men that strive to stay pure!

"Or do you not know that your body is a Temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God?  You are not your own, for you were bought with a price.  So glorify God with your body."
1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Modesty is definitely something that is dear to my heart. Now, I wear skirts only but that is because I am most comfortable in them. We don't force our girls to wear them, though we do encourage it. We also make sure that their pants aren't too tight or their shirts too low cut, short or tight. As a matter of fact, our oldest daughter, 8, feels very uncomfortable in a swimsuit without a t-shirt because she feels like she is 'too bare'. When she told us that last summer it warmed both our hearts because we knew that what we were modeling and teaching was being seen and learned. We try to teach our son to be modest in his dress and actions, too. This was a great post!

Vania, I agree with you! There are some instances where skirts are just a nusiance such as trying to garden or deep cleaning the house, but other than that, I love them. It makes me so happy to know that you all take it seriously with your children!

My Granmother told me that when she was a little girl living out on the farm, Great Grandma would throw hay in a skirt! Imagine...skirt, hay wagon piled with hay and a pitchfork! LOL!

I think it just shows respect for yourself and God. I am so appreciative of men who try to keep their thoughts clean. I'm all for helping out in that battle of rejecting the natural man.

My favorite scripture on the subject is Proverbs 31:10
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
